Stefanie was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio before morning to northwest Indiana in 2003 where she graduated from Chesterton High School in 2004. After high school, Stefanie attended Purdue North Central for three (3) years studying social work and sociology – concentrating in studying social problems and addiction.
After her time at Purdue, Stefanie spent the next decade being a caregiver for adults and children with special needs. In 2014, Stefanie realized her new passion for criminal law and entered the paralegal studies program at Ivy Tech. She completed here internship at the Lake County Public Defenders Office before graduating Cum Laude with her Associates Degree in 2016.
After graduating, Stefanie worked as a paralegal for three (3) attorneys before accepting a position as a court manager with the Porter County Prosecutor’s Office in 2020. During her time at the Porter County Prosecutor’s Office, Stefanie assisted with over a dozen high felony jury trials, including four (4) murder trials. She continuously maintained a high felony caseload and prepared countless other cases for jury trial.
Stefanie says: “I fell that my experience and education in social work, sociology, and criminal law, as well as having worked for both defense and the prosecution, gives me a unique perspective and understanding as to how social issues and criminal law intertwine and the ability to analyze legal issues from all angles.”
In her spare time, Stefanie enjoys photography, caping with her husband and daughter, spending time with family and friends and Ohio State Football.
